Show Notes
Not what you see on telly. No swimming pools, no celebrity chefs, no breakthrough moments on day three where everything clicks and you walk out cured. Real rehab is boring, uncomfortable, exhausting, and occasionally humiliating. It's also the thing that saved my life.
In this episode I walk through what a typical day in residential rehab actually looked like. The 6am wake-ups. The group sessions where grown adults cried about things they'd never said aloud. The terrible food. The woman in the next room who snored like a freight train. And the unexpected friendships formed in the most unlikely place.
I also talk about leaving — the terrifying moment you walk out the door and realise that the real work is only just beginning. If you're considering rehab, or supporting someone who is, this episode is for you.
